Expression of Interest for Development of Pathways for Integrating the Gender Plan of Action (GPA) into the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) for Cambodia. WWF Cambodia seeks the Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified experts to identify and develop the pathways for integrating the Gender Plan of Action (GPA) into national biodiversity strategy and action plan (NBSAP) for Cambodia. The pathways for integrating GPA into NBSAP are a strategic approach to ensure that biodiversity conservation is both inclusive and effective, and it ensures that all voices are heard, enhances the efficiency of conservation actions, and ultimately results in more sustainable and resilient biodiversity management practices. Women and men often experience biodiversity loss differently due to their distinct roles in communities, particularly in rural or Indigenous settings. Therefore, by integrating the GPA into the NBSAP, the policy can better respond to the needs and priorities of both women and men, ensuring equitable participation and benefits in biodiversity efforts. Moreover, the policy allows both women and men, including marginalized groups, to have a voice in biodiversity planning and management. Identifying and developing the pathways to directly align with the goals and obligations outlined in the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the prioritized objectives outlined in the national gender policies and strategies is essential for Cambodia in meeting this international commitment as well as in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), ensuring equitable and effective conservation strategies, and fostering global leadership in inclusive biodiversity governance.
