Request for proposals for Partnerships: Youth Leading Peace: Establishing Participatory and Inclusive Mechanisms for Implementation of the Youth Peace and Security Agenda in South Sudan Project The objective of this Call for Proposals is to engage in partnership with local civil society organizations to implement aspects of the project on behlaf of UNESCO South Sudan Country Office to provide capacity building to yong men and women (Youth groups) in Western Equatoria State (Yambio), Western Bhar El Gazel State (Wau), Upper Nile State (Malakal), Norther Bhar El Gazel State (Aweil), Eastern Equatoria State (Torit), Unity State (Bentiu), Abyei Administrative Area (Abyei) and Greater Pibor Administrative Area (Pibor). The output and activities are provided below: 1) Outputs Form AM 7-20 (April 2019) Output 1: Capacity building for young women and young men to become advocates and to effectively engage and participate meaningfully in national and local peacebuilding processes. 2) Activities The implementing partner will simultaneously organize the following activities/trainings Activity 1.1: Human rights-based approach in peacebuilding: This will focus on linking human rights principles as the foundation for conflict prevention and resolution. Activity 1.2: Leadership skills and development: To enhance their capacity to lead peace actors and structures, the training will encompass skills like leadership, communication, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills. Activity 1.3: Advocacy skills: Public speaking, coalition building, and media engagement will be delivered to the participants. Activity 1.4: Conflict resolution and mediation: This training will equip young men and women with necessary skills in conflict mitigation, dialogue and mediation. Activity 1.5: Hate Speech, facts checking of information /news and social media platform: The training will equip young men and women with knowledge, skills, and resources to be able to identify, understand, and respond to hate speech effectively, promoting a more inclusive and respectful environment Eligibility This call for Partnerships is open only to registered National NGOs with not-for-profit registered valid legal status and operating since 2019. UNESCO evaluation team will only consider proposals that fulfill the mandatory requirements below: 1. Documented experience in programming youth promotion initiatives. 2. At least three years of demonstrated operational presence in at least one of the above-mentioned states in South Sudan. (Evidence: legal registration certificate; proof of project office; organization profile, and recommendations from the funding partners, etc. required). 3. Capacity of implementing projects with total annual budget of not less than 100,000 USD and above in last two years. (Evidence: Annual financial statements of the partner for year 2022 and 2023). 4. Fully completed UNESCO Form 7-9A (Partner Identification form- ANNEX) and signed by senior management of the organization submitting the proposal. 5. Latest Harmonized Approach to Cash Transfers (HACT) assessment report (if the partner was subject to HACT by any UN entity. the HACT documentation should be attached and confirmation that recommendations if any have been implemented should be provided). 6. Valid registration certificate issued by the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission to proof the not-forprofit status of the organization. Those with expired certificates at the time of the submission, should provide proof of submission of request for renewal. This may be in the form of a letter from the Commission. 7. In kind and/or financial contribution clearly stated in USD value and reflected in the proposed budget to show some form of shared costs, value for money.
