Work Detail
Request for proposals for Climate-Tech Startup Acceleration and Investment Mobilization in Viet Nam. GGGI Vietnam Office is inviting eligible firms/entities to submit their proposals under the Project Enhancing Net-Zero Readiness of Vietnam Through Mobilizing Investment for Climate Tech Startups and SMEs for the following scope of work: PROJECT BACKGROUND: The Project is funded by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and co-funded and implemented by GGGI in collaboration with the Government of Viet Nam through the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) to support Viet Nams goal of net-zero emissions by 2050. It aims to enhance the readiness of startups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to receive green investments and develop relevant policies to create an enabling environment for mobilizing climate finance. The Project aims to achieve two main targets: Outcome 1: Climate-tech startups and SMEs have enhanced access to accelerators and investors. This outcome focuses on mobilizing investment for Viet Nams startups and SMEs working on climate solutions. It will be achieved by improving the readiness of startups and SMEs to secure financing through a bespoke acceleration program. Outcome 2: The government has improved policies for mobilizing public and private green investment and increased readiness for implementation in the provinces. This outcome focuses on enhancing current government policies to facilitate investment flow in climate technologies. It is designed to strengthen national and provincial policies through collaboration with MPI and provincial governments, contributing to the attraction of green investments. OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: GGGI invites bids aiming to achieve Outcomes 1. The above-mentioned Project, through its Outcome 1, aims to support the development of climate-tech solutions via acceleration program designed to promote the adoption of climate technologies in Viet Nam. Activities under this outcome will provide training and coaching to qualified climate-tech startups selected through a competitive process to prepare them to mobilize investments. This is expected to strengthen the capacities of selected startups and SMEs focused on climate action, enabling them to secure green investments more effectively. This acceleration program will also connect selected startups/SMEs with potential local and international investors through pitching events organized in Viet Nam and two-way study tours between Viet Nam and the Republic of Korea. The program will focus on climate tech solutions in two main sectors: Agriculture (including agri-tech and food-tech) and Circular Economy / Waste. IMPORTANT NOTE: For this assignment, bidders are required to form a strategic consortium comprising accelerators and investment firms, such as venture capital (VC), corporate venture capital (CVC), impact funds, family offices, etc., from Vietnam, the Republic of Korea, and other international markets (e.g., the US and Europe). The consortium must include at least one Korean and one Vietnamese-based company with a proven track record in startup acceleration, investment mobilization, or similar programs. For further details on the Scope of Work, please refer to the Terms of Reference available under the published Document Set.
