The project includes the following components: Component A Strengthening the audit function: to finance the services of a short-term consulting firm to conduct specialized audits in Retail and the Insurance Industries. These two sectors are currently not being audited and hence there is huge potential for revenue leakage. All NamRA has been doing is to conduct simple refund verification before paying refunds. NamRA is now moving to a risk-based approach covering these two sectors and hence the need for support targeting these two sectors. Key activities include the following: Assist the auditing team in performing thorough assessments of compliance with industry regulations and operational standards; Collaborate with the team to identify risks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement within the audited sectors; Provide actionable recommendations based on audit findings to enhance operational effectiveness; Design tailored audit methodologies for each specific sector, considering the unique challenges and opportunities within each sector and should align with international auditing standards and best practices. Component B: Capacity building of NamRA staff: The same consulting firm will conduct capacity building of NamRA staff as follows: (a) Conduct specialized training sessions to improve the teams auditing methodologies and practices in the specific sectors. (b) Deliver Data Analytics training to a specific group of employees responsible for data management with particular focus on the following: Conducting a training needs assessment within the team to determine gaps. Design and deliver training sessions on data analytics concepts, tools and methodologies tailored to the needs of NamRA. Provide hands-on workshops to enhance the teams skills in data visualization, statistical analysis, and data interpretation. Assess current data analytics practices and recommend strategies for improvement. Assist in setting up data management processes to ensure data quality and accessibility. Assist in developing key performance indicators for measuring the effectiveness of data analytics within the Agency Provide training in predictive analytics, revenue forecasting and advanced SQL.
