The Project Competition Offered Deals With The Transformation Of The Slaughterhouse Building At Faaborg Harbor. The Vision For The Slaughterhouse Building Is To Create An Attraction That Can Serve As A Motor For Development Locally And Regionally, Where Entrepreneurship, Cultural And Association Life And New Communities Have Good Opportunities To Flourish Year-Round; And Nationally And Internationally, It Can Become A Cultural And Experiential Power Center That Attracts More Guests To The Area, Supporting Increased Quality Tourism And The Citys Long -Term Development. The Transformation Will Give The City An Innovative And Special Building That, With Its Very Flexible Interior Design And Good Production, Residence And Experience Opportunities, Supports Opportunities For Synergy And Cooperation In The Building And With The Many Cultural And Business Players At The Harbor And In The City. Building Transformation From Abandoned Industrial Building To The Citys New Cultural And Gastronomic Gathering Place Will, Among Other Things, Help To Strengthen Local Business Initiatives, Communities In Faaborg And Archipelago Tourism. The Slagterigrunden Is Bounded To The Northeast Of Havnegade And To The South/West Of The Shipyard Road. The Competition Area Itself Includes The Slaughterhouse Building As Well As Close Outdoor Areas Around The Building. It Is Located On Land 337M And Includes Approx. 8,880 M2, Of Which The Buildings Footprint Amounts To Approx. 5,660 M2. The Assignment Includes Transformation And Renovation Of The Slaughterhouse Building At Faaborg Harbor As Well As Disposal Of The Buildings Associated Edge Zone And Close Outdoor Areas. The Project Is Financed By Realdania, Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality And The Nordea Foundation. As A Whole, The Project Is Expected To Have A Total Budget For The Construction And Development Of Operating Activities Of Approx. Dkk 180 Million Dkk Incl. All Costs.
