This Request For Proposals (The “Rfp”) Is An Invitation By The Cowichan Valley Regional District (The “Cvrd”) To Prospective Proponents To Submit Non-Binding Proposals For Cvrd Parks Wildfire Risk Assessment & Management Strategy, As Further Described In Section A Of The Rfp Particulars (Appendix D) (The “Deliverables”). The Cvrd Manages Approximately 206 Community Parks, Eight Regional Parks, Two Regional Trails, As Well As Cobble Hill Mountain Regional Recreation Area. There Are Approximately 1200 Hectares Of Community Parks And 823 Hectares Of Regional Parkland Plus The 122 Km Cowichan Valley Trail (Cvt) In The Region. The Cvrd Is Soliciting Proposals From Qualified Firms To Develop A Wildfire Risk Assessment & Management Strategy (Wrams) For Its Parks & Trails Division. The Strategy Aims To Evaluate Wildfire Risks Across Regional And Community Parks, Prioritizing Areas At The Wildland-Urban Interface Where Human Activity And Proximity To Residences Heighten Potential Hazards. With Increasing Public Use Of Parks And The Growing Impact Of Climate Change On Wildfire Frequency, The Wrams Will Provide A Comprehensive, Science-Based Management Framework To Manage Wildfire Risk While Safeguarding The Ecological Integrity And Biodiversity Of Cvrd Parks.Notes This Will Be The Only Notice Posted To Bc Bid Concerning This Project.
