Work Detail
Supply Of Landfill Leachate Line Flushing And Vac Services - Nb . Other Construction Services Part 1 - Introduction 1.1 Invitation This Request For Quotations (The Rfq) Issued By The Southeast Regional Service Commission (The Sersc Or The Commission) Is An Invitation To Submit Non-Binding Offers For The Provision Of The Services Described In Appendix A. The Proponent Selected Pursuant To This Rfq Process Will Be Informed By Telephone Followed By Written Confirmation. Proponents Not Selected Will Be Informed By Letter. 1.2 Background And Purpose Of Rfq Eco360, The Solid Waste Division Of The Southeast Regional Service Commission (Sersc) Requires The Services Of A Qualified Contractor - Working In Conjunction With Sersc Staff - To Clean Both The Landfill Leachate Lines Which Run Underneath The Landfill Cells And The Additional Piping That Flows To The Leachate Treatment Pond, Using High Pressure Water Flushing And Vacuuming. The Cleaning Process Involves The Use Of A High Pressure, High Flow Pumping System In Conjunction With Specialized Jetting Heads To Clean The Lines And Remove Scale And Debris That May Have Accumulated. Flushing Events Will Most Likely Take Place In Spring And Fall. Depending On The Condition Of The Piping And Cleaning Success, The Flushing Events Can Take Up To Two Weeks. Landfill Gas Is Composed Of Methane, Carbon Dioxide, Hydrogen Sulfide And Various Other Gases. The Accumulation Of These Gases Within The Leachate Collection System Has The Potential To Create A Hazardous Environment (Explosive, Displacement Of Oxygen, Etc.) To Individuals During The Flushing, Thereby The Use Of Personal 4-Gas Monitors, Full Face Respirators And Supplied Air Within The Designated Work Area Is Mandatory. This Is A Tender Notice Only.
