Tenders are invited for Consultancy for the Development of Child Protection and Protection Policies Closing Date: 5 Mar 2025 Type: Consultancy Within the framework of international commitments on protection, and with the aim of strengthening approaches to prevention and response to protection risks, it is necessary to hire a consultant specialized in protection to develop two key policies: Protection Policy: Aimed at mitigating, preventing and responding to risks of violence, abuse, exploitation and discrimination in humanitarian environments. Child Protection Policy: Focused on safeguarding the rights of children and adolescents in humanitarian assistance and development contexts. Objective of the Consultancy Design and develop two institutional policies on the protection and protection of children, ensuring that: Are practical and applicable to the organizational and operational context. Integrate humanitarian principles, international law, and gender, diversity, and inclusion approaches. Incorporate mechanisms for prevention, response, and reparation in cases of violence and protection risks. Establish clear guidelines for their implementation, follow-up and monitoring. Scope and Methodology The consultant must carry out the following activities: Documentary review of regulatory frameworks, international standards and relevant organizational references. Consultations and interviews with key actors to ensure the contextualization and relevance of policies. Development of a first draft of each policy, including definitions, guiding principles, implementation mechanisms and action routes. Socialization and validation of documents with interested parties. Final delivery of policies with recommendations for application and implementation. Consultant Profile The consultant must have: Academic training in Law, Social Sciences, International Humanitarian Law, Human Rights, Social Work or related areas. Minimum 5-year experience in protection, child protection, gender, and inclusion in humanitarian or development contexts. Solid knowledge of international protection standards and humanitarian policies. Experience in the drafting and development of organizational policies in the humanitarian field. Skills in facilitating participatory processes and consultation with various actors. Previous experience in the region and knowledge of the Venezuelan context is desirable. Speak and write in Spanish. Expected products Approved work plan and methodology. First draft of both policies with inputs collected in the consultation process. Final document of each policy with recommendations for implementation. Final presentation of the products to the organization. Duration and Modality The consultancy will have an estimated duration of 6 weeks. Remote modality/with the possibility of face-to-face meetings.
