It is exclusively involved in international development, active in more than 38 countries with 120 programmes with more than 1,000 staff members. Swisscontact has been present throughout South-East Asia for more than 30 years. Swisscontact has been operating in Cambodia since 2013, establishing its office in the country in April 2016. The Digital Literacy Initiative (DLI) is a project under the cooperation of The Dariu Foundation and the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia, implemented by Swisscontact Cambodia. The project aims at supporting the Cambodian government to further improve public education in a way that disadvantaged youth is better prepared to undertake productive activities in the digital economy. Given the priorities, the project will focus on improving education for young people who intend to enter the job market within 12 years, thus students from (a) high schools and (b) Technical and Vocational Schools (TVETs). The project will be implemented in 2 years starting from 01 January 2024 to 31 December 2025. The project will initially work in 4 high schools2 (2 in Siem Reap, 2 in Battambang) and 5 TVETs (2 in Siem Reap and 2 in Battambang, 1 in Phnom Penh). It will in addition make training materials and training available free of charge to interested public and private initiatives.
