Helen Keller Intl supports vitamin A supplementation for 40 million children each year in 14 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. When given twice a year to at least 80% of children aged 6 to 59 months in countries with high under-five mortality and high rates of vitamin A deficiency, vitamin A supplementation can help reduce child mortality by up to 24%. In Madagascar, Helen Keller Intl provides technical and financial support to the Ministry of Public Health for the provision of Vitamin A Supplementation (VAS) in 08 regions, namely Menabe, Ihorombe, Betsiboka, Boeny, Sofia, Melaky, DIANA and SAVA through door-to-door catch-up training for a period of 04 days organized twice a year. In order to assess the number of children affected by these catch-ups (coverage), Helen Keller Intl conducts cross-sectional household surveys following the methodology developed by the WHO to measure VAS coverage. We are currently looking for a consultancy firm to support Helen Keller Intls teams in the country to conduct a coverage survey scheduled for April/May 2025. The firm will be responsible for the preparation of the survey, including adapting protocols and tools, submitting protocols and tools to the ethics committee, recruiting and training investigators, and overseeing field data collection, data analysis, and reporting. Proposals must have a validity period of 90 days from the date of submission, as indicated in the cover letter.
