Tenders are invited for Capacity Building for Niue Power Corporation (Renewable Energy Integration and Disaster Resilience) Clean and Resilient Energy Development Support Project - 0001 Capacity Building for Niue Power Corporation Approval Date: 10-Dec-2024 Estimated Commencement Date: 499,000 USD Engagement Period: 14.5 MONTH The proposed technical assistance (TA) will support the Government of Niues renewable energy target while providing more climate and disaster resilient energy supply. The TA will be financed on a grant basis by the Ireland Trust Fund for Building Climate Change and Disaster Resilience in Small Island Developing States and administered by Asian Development Bank (ADB). ADB, through the Energy Sector Office will coordinate the overall TA activities working closely with the Government of Niue and the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT). The TA will help to increase the efficiency and reliability of Niues power network by providing capacity building to the Niue Power Corporation (NPC), the entity solely responsible for power generation, transmission, and distribution under the Department of Utility (DOU) within Niues Ministry of Infrastructure (MOI). The TA will support NPC in developing a lifecyle asset management system and enhancing capacity in key areas such as operation efficiency, financial management, regulatory compliance, strategic planning, and procurement. In addition, the TA will create employment opportunities to build NPCs workforce in a gender-inclusive manner A consulting firm (the consultant) will be recruited to (i) strengthen NPCs capacity for renewable energy integration and disaster resilience, including identification of essential O&M tools and equipment, such as testing and measurement instruments, as well as maintenance and repair equipment to maintain network operation and respond promptly to power outages and damages; and (ii) enhance NPCs workforce in a gender-inclusive manner Tender Link : selfservice.adb.org
