The Town Of Stony Plain In An Urban Municipality Located West Of Edmonton With A Population Of Nearly 18,000 Residents, Comprised Of Young Families, Working Professionals, Artists, Entrepreneurs And Retirees. In Addition To The Town Residential Population, Over 900 Businesses Provide Services To The Community, As Well As To Customers In The Region And Beyond. This Request For Proposals Is An Invitation By The Town Of Stony Plain (The Town) To Prospective Proponents To Submit Proposals For Municipal Waste Services - Recycling. The Town Of Stony Plain Is Requesting Submissions From Proponents To Provide Services Throughout The Town For The Collection Of Regular Household Recycling, And Ecocentre Recycling Bin Pickup. Beginning April 1, 2025 , The Successful Proponent With Be Expected To Provide All Materials, Equipment, Supervision, And Administration For: • The Collection Of Household Recycling From Approximately 5,703 Residential Dwelling Units; • The Collection Of Recycling From Roll-Off Bins And Front Load Bins At Select Sites And Facilities; • The Transport And Disposal Of All Blue Bags And Recyclables At A Processing Facility. As Per The Extended Producer Responsibility (Epr) Regulation Under The Environmental Protection And Enhancement Act By The Province Of Alberta, The Town Has Chosen To Enter Into An Opt-In Agreement With The Producer Responsibility Organization, Circular Materials. The Term Of The Agreement Is To Be For A Period Of Two And A Half (2.5) Years, With An Option In Favour Of The Town To Extend The Agreement On The Same Terms And Conditions For One (1) Additional Term Of Up To One (1) Year. While The Services Would Not Begin Until April 1, 2025, The Agreement With The Successful Proponent Must Be Executed No Later Than February 28, 2025.
