Prior Information Notice For Laboratory, Optical And Precision Equipments (Excl. Glasses) – Wave Tank. The University Of Groningen (Ug) Performs Research On Wave Energy Devices And Other Relevant Marine Technologies For Which Wave Loading Is Important And Experiments Are Critical In Validating The Predictions Of Our Computational Models. For This, A Wave Tank Is Needed That Can Simulate The Ocean Environment And Wave Loading On Marine Structures And Their Mooring, While Measuring The Response In Terms Of Kinematics (Displacements, Velocities And Accelerations) And Dynamics (Forces). The Wave Tank Should Be Able To Generate Representative Wave Profiles That Correspond To Reality At Small Scale (Both Regular And Irregular From Within An Occurrence Spectrum), Such That We Can Use Small Scale Prototypes Of Our Devices To Study Their Behaviour. Having Such A Wave Tank At The Ug Will Benefit All Research Dealing With Water Waves And Can Also Be Used For Education And Outreach Activities To The Public.
