He Ministry Delivers Monitoring, Assessment And Reporting On The Province Of Ontario’S Air Quality In Support Of One Of The Ministry’S Core Businesses Of Protecting And Improving Clean Air. The Ministry Operates 38 Air Quality Health Index (Aqhi) And Air Quality Research Stations Throughout The Province Of Ontario Which, At A Minimum, Report Real-Time Continuous Concentrations Of Gas-Phase Ozone (“O3”), Nitrogen Oxides (Nox), And Small Particulate Matter (Pm2.5). Some Sites May Also Include Real-Time Sulphur Dioxide (“So2”), Carbon Monoxide (“Co”) And Volatile Organic Carbon (Voc) Analyzers. The Gas-Phase Monitors In The Research Stations Network Require A Pristine Air Source Free Of The Pollutants Referred To Above (I.E. A Zero Air Source) For Calibrating And Accounting For Baseline Drift, As Well As Diluting Gas Standards To Known Concentrations.
