Harbor Construction Works – New Construction Of The Goßschiff Berth In Emden. Niedersachsen Ports Gmbh & Co. Kg (Hereinafter: “Nports Or Client”) Is The Largest Infrastructure Operator Of Public Seaports, Island Supply Ports And Regional Ports On The German North Sea Coast. The Client Is Responsible For Five Seaports, Seven Island Supply Ports And Three Regional Ports In The Coastal Region Of Lower Saxony. The Company Consists Of The Headquarters Based In Oldenburg And The Branches In Brake, Cuxhaven, Emden, Norden And Wilhelmshaven. The Core Tasks Include The Development, Construction And Maintenance Of The Port Infrastructure. With The Expectation Of A Continued Increase In Throughput In The Area Of Project Cargo, Automobile Handling And Changing Ship Sizes, An Expansion Of Capacities In The Emden Port Area Is Necessary. To This End, The Client Plans To Build And Operate A New Mega-Ship Berth In The Outer Harbor Between The Existing Emspier And Emskai Berths. On The One Hand, This Is Intended To Generally Increase Handling Capacities And, In Particular, To Create A Berth For Ships With Greater Drafts. The Project For The New Construction Of The Mega-Ship Berth Essentially Includes: ▪ A Harbor Area To Be Created By Flooding (Approx. 2.3 Hectares), ▪ The Construction Of A Quay With A Mooring Tub (Quay Length Approx. 337 M, Jump In Terrain Around 18.5 M) And ▪ The Removal Of Soil (Soil Replacement In The Area Of The Planned Port Area And Berth) The Client Reserves The Right To Forego Negotiations And To Do So Award The Contract Based On The Initial Offers.
