The principal objective of which is to have the Contractor involved early in the project development, so they can influence and take ownership of the project design, with a view to achieving greater cost effectiveness and cost certainty in construction, as well as expediting overall delivery. The ECI contract involves 3 separable portions of: Separable Portion 1a Preconstruction services including constructability reviews, investigations and preliminary (consent-level) design delivery. Separable Portion 1b Detailed design services resulting in a detailed design for pricing.
