Over time the strategy will see UC take a more proactive and holistic approach to energy procurement. This RFP is the first stage of the procurement strategy, focussing on providing a period of cost certainty while UC continues to investigate and develop energy management options. UC seeks to secure supply of approximately 37 GWhpa of electricity from 1 May 2025 under an arrangement providing cost certainty over the near term when wholesale market prices are expected to be volatile. UC is interested in minimising total contract cost and wishes to investigate a range of fixed and flexible pricing structures including the option to sleeve a power purchase agreement such as UC may wish to purchase during the term of the contact.
