Work Detail
Registration of Interest (ROI) for Eoi Thames-Coromandel District Council - Thames Administration Building - Leasehold Arrangement Open Date: Monday, 21 October 2024 11:00 PM (Pacific/Auckland UTC+13:00) Close Date: Monday, 4 November 2024 5:00 PM (Pacific/Auckland UTC+13:00) Tender Type: Registration of Interest (ROI) Tender Coverage: Sole Agency Regions: New Zealand Required Pre-qualifications: None Overview: This Expression of Interest (EOI) is an invitation to identify suitably qualified Developers or Developer Consortia who would be interested in partnering with the Thames Coromandel District Council (TCDC) in providing a leased supply of a new administration building which would replace our current central office in Mackay Street, Thames. This administration building would function as a workplace for council staff and elected members, a service centre for our customers, and a meeting space for our other visitors, contractors and invited guests. This EOI process is intended to ascertain and shortlist suppliers capable of responding to an in-depth Request of Proposal or Request for Tender process. It is not the intention of the TCDC to award a contract from this process. Thames-Coromandel District Council is the Local Authority which administers the Thames-Coromandel District, comprising a population of circa 32,000. Our current central office based in Thames is aged and now requires significant investment for continued occupation as it doesnt meet current health, safety and earthquake standards for staff and the visitors who use it. This presents TCDC with new options to consider as part of its overall Property Strategy for the future. As part of its recent Long Term Plan (LTP) process, council consulted with the public on a range of options for the future of our central office, as one of the five key decisions within the consultation document. Following deliberations, Council has decided to do further investigation on a leasehold arrangement as a result of public feedback our Council received from the LTP consultation, which is an option that wasnt included in the proposals for our consultation document. Council is now testing the market to seek interest and identify developers with the capability, capacity, and track record to provide a leased supply of a new administration building which would replace our current central office in Thames. Following this EOI process, a summary of the response will be reported back to council, to support the decision making on the future of our central office.
