Tenders Are Invited For Supply Of Grp Pipes, Fittings And Associated Items - St Peter And West Hill Sewer Network Upgrades

St Peter Strategic Storage Tank / Sewer Network Upgrades (St Peter) And The West Hill Sewer Network Upgrades (West Hill) Are Two Of The Key Infrastructure Projects Identified In The Bridging Liquid Waste Strategy 2023-26 (Blws). The Blws Aims To Meet The Demands Of Current Government Plans And Existing Operational And Strategic Departmental Business Plans. In Particular, The Bridging Island Plan (Bip) Includes Provision For Up To 7,900 New Homes By 2035 Including A Proportion Of Affordable Homes To Be Built On Re-Zoned Fields. The Schemes At St Peter And West Hill Have Been Identified As Two Of The Highest Priority.The St Peter And West Hill Sewerage Networks Are Currently Undersized For High Storm Flows, Leading To Surcharging Of The Sewers And Flooding Within The Catchments At Times Of High Rainfall. Infrastructure And Environment (I&E) Therefore Propose To Provide New Strategic Sewage Storage Tanks To Contain Combined Flows Of Sewage And Stormwater At Times Of High Rainfall And Hence Mitigate Flooding. It Is Also Necessary To Increase The Capacity Of Both Sewerage Networks By Increasing The Diameter Of Significant Lengths Of Existing Sewers In Order To Carry The Increased Storm Flows. This Contract Is For Supply Of Glass-Fibre-Reinforced Plastics (Grp) Pipes To Be Used For Increasing Capacity Of The Existing Sewer Networks At Both St Peter And West Hill. The Pipes Will Be Used As Gravity Sewers To Carry Combined Flows Of Both Foul Sewage And Surface Water Runoff.
