This facility will house Te Papas natural history wet collection, currently stored at its Spirit Collection Area (SCA) on Tory Street, Wellington. The wet collection contains irreplaceable specimens preserved in alcohol solutions, stored in various jars, pails, and tanks. The BRC Project aims to acquire a new site, obtain necessary consents, and design and construct a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility that will provide optimal environmental and safety standards for storing these collections. The main contractor will play a key role in delivering a high-tech facility that meets the museums requirements and supports its research outputs.
