This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and revitalisation of this fast-growing community, delivering much-needed quality housing solutions. The Opportunity The available sites are Lots 1-7 at 72 Caernarvon Drive (Gumtree) and Lot 6 at 30 Swansea Road (Lot 6). These lots are fully infrastructure-enabled and ready for development, offering a prime opportunity for developers to deliver housing that meets the rising demand in the area. Flaxmere is well-positioned to cater to a diverse population, including first-home buyers, families, and retirees. Hastings District Councils vision and expectations This development aligns with HDCs broader strategic goals, focusing on four key pillars: economic, environmental, social, and cultural well-being. We are looking for developers who can provide housing solutions that are not only affordable and of high quality but also respect the local cultural heritage, incorporating Te Aranga Design Principles. The aim is to create a sustainable, inclusive community that reflects Flaxmeres rich history while meeting the future needs of its residents. Next steps This ROI is the initial stage in the process to identify qualified developers. Submissions will be evaluated based on the criteria in the ROI document, including alignment with HDCs sustainability goals, and the capacity to foster positive social outcomes. A question and answer session led by the Chief Executive and Mayor will be held on Monday 07 October 2024 at 4.30 pm.
