The RFI is being conducted for the benefit of all agencies that hold a Maritime Security mandate and will inform a Cabinet Paper to recommend government investment in the short term to support the maritime security sector. The agencies are seeking to understand the availability and cost of capabilities that might provide greater visibility of the activity taking place in New Zealands Maritime Area of Interest (AOI). Space capabilities are NOT sought at this time, but land, maritime and aerial surveillance capability is of interest. Reflecting the multi-agency nature of this effort, the RFI listing is being managed via the Ministry of Transport, with the administration of the RFI by the Ministry of Defence.
