Work Detail
Mainframe Hardware – Delivery Of Compute / Storage For A Rental Fee (Consumption). Initial Situation And Goal: New Ag Intends To Award The Contract For The Delivery Of Compute/Storage. Background: For The Future Consolidation Of The Existing Data Center Systems (Hpe Servers, Hpe 3Par 8440 Storage Systems), A Highly Available Server/Storage Environment Is To Be Built At The Mönchengladbach-Rheydt Location. The Storage Systems To Be Procured Should Be Integrated As Best As Possible Into The Existing Server Landscape, Consisting Of A Vmware Vsphere Virtualization Platform And Various Unix And Windows Servers. For This Purpose, An Additional 20 Ports Must Be Provided On The San Switches Per Side When Connecting The Existing Systems To The Future Storage. The Existing Brocade San Infrastructure Based On 16Gbit/S Switches Will Be Replaced In This Context. The Current San Infrastructure Is Based On A Dual-Fabric Design With Four 16Gbit/S Monomode Inter-Switch Links Per Fabric. In The Area Of Backup, The Client Is Currently Using A Solution Consisting Of Hpe Storeonce, Hpe Msl Systems And A Cloud Storage Solution. Integrations With Veeam Backup And Use Of Snapshots Are Already Being Used Successfully With Existing Hpe 3Par Systems. Therefore, Future Storage Systems Must Also Support This Technology. In Addition To Rack Server Systems, The Subject Of This Tender Is Two Central, Redundantly Designed Storage Systems And San Components, Which Are To Be Provided By The Provider For A Rental Fee (Consumption) And Operated In The Existing New Infrastructure. The Systems Offered Must Have Strong Ha Properties And Be Designed To Handle High I/O Loads. Compatible San Components Are Part Of The Tender To Connect The Servers To The Storage Systems. The Usable Capacity Per Storage System Must Correspond To The Current Level Of 900 Tib. The Entire Database Should Be Mirrored Synchronously Between The Two Storage Systems. To Achieve Good Performance, The System Must Consist Of An Appropriate Number Of Ssd Or Flash Drives. For The Currently Existing Virtual Machines, The Server Systems Must Contain At Least 640 Cores (With At Least 16 Cores Per Socket At At Least 2.4 Ghz) And 10 Tb Of Ram. The Processor Architecture Corresponds To The Latest X86/Intel Technology. The Use Of Amd Processors Is Excluded For Compatibility Reasons. The Fiber Channel Protocol (Fc-P) With At Least 32Gbit/S Should Be Used To Connect The Systems. A Host Connection Via Iscsi Or Nvme Should Be Retrofittable. Special Requirements Are Placed On The Qualitative Properties Of The Storage Systems Advertised. They Should Be Easy To Maintain, Enlargeable And Reduced In Size, And At The Same Time Offer A High Level Of Protection Against Data Loss. The Bidder Must Offer Service Contracts Of 3 Years For All Offered Components. All On
