This purchase will address the Labs current constraints in its ability to provide comprehensive analytical data on the physical response of rock to changes in climate, geothermal conditions, groundwater levels, and pore fluid chemistry. With more robust and precise data, the Lab is able to better inform decisions and offer advice related to land-use, infrastructure, community resilience and hazard and risk mitigation for New Zealand.
