Backgroundvulcan County Emergency Services Current Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (Scba)S Were Purchased In 2012 With A Planned Life Cycle Replacement Schedule Of 15 Years (2027). Vulcan Provides Emergency Services To Areas Of Vulcan County Under A Fire And Rescue Services Agreements. Scopethe Purpose Of This Rfp Is To Select One Qualified Proponent, With Experience In Supplying, Supporting And Providing Ongoing Maintenance Of Scba Equipment For Vulcan County Fire Departments. This Process Will Be Open To All And Will Not Exclude Any Scba Manufactures.1.Vulcan Emergency Services (Vces) Is A Paid On Call Service Which Relies Heavily On The Use Of Volunteer Firefighters. Vces Has A Long History Of Using Msa Scba Packs And Masks. The Knowledge And Comfort Level Of Using Msa Scba’S Shall Be Maintained As To Not Over Burden Volunteer Firefighters In Learning New Skills With A Different Scba Manufacturer On A Piece Of Critical Personal Protective Equipment. The Product Being Quoted Must Be Easy To Use And Fit Comfortably. 2.Re-Use Of Scba Air Bottles And Rit Packs Is A Definite Benefit To Vulcan County.3.Standardization Of Equipment Across Vulcan County And Its Mutual Aid Partners Is Important. Schedule 1 – Pricing Attachment Contains The Minimum Scba Systems And Related Equipment The County Requires.In Addition To The Requirements In Schedule 1 - Pricing, The County Also Require:A)Delivery Of The Systems And Inventory Within The Agreed To Timelines;B)Training On The Proper Use And Maintenance Of The Scba Equipment From A Qualified Instructor,C)Ongoing Access To Technical Support And Service Throughout The Scba Life-Cycle
