General Procurement Notice For Outage Study Government Of Sierra Leone Sierra Leone Compact Development Unit Gpn 3.0 August 07, 2024 The United States Government Through The Millennium Challenge Corporation And The Government Of Sierra Leone Have Entered Into An Eleven Million, Nine Hundred And Seventy Thousand, Three Hundred And Seventy-Five U.S Dollars ($11,970,375) Compact Development Funding Agreement To Support The Development Of A Compact To Increase Access To Reliable And Affordable Power In Sierra Leone. The Motor Control Centre $480 Million Compact With Sierra Leone Is Important For Its Potential To Deliver Affordable Energy For 4.6 Million People. The Compact Which Was Approved By The Motor Control Centre Board Of Directors On June 26 2024 Includes The Following Three Projects: 1. The Transmission Backbone Project Will Focus On Increasing The Coverage And Capacity Of The Transmission Network To Improve Its Resilience And Operations And Maintenance. 2. The Distribution And Access Project Will Focus On Increasing The Reliable Delivery And Consumption Of Electricity In Sierra Leone While Reducing Barriers To Access Among Potential Customers. 3. The Power Sector Reform Project Will Focus On Improving The Financial Sustainability Of The Electricity Sector In Sierra Leone. The Government Of Sierra Leone Acting Through The Sierra Leone Compact Development Unit (Slcdu) Intends To Apply Parts Of The Proceeds Of The Funds To Payment Of Contracts For Goods And Services. MccS Funding Is Appropriated By The U.S. Congress And Obligated To The Development Of Projects Up-Front, With No Incremental Or Partial Funding. When A Contract Is Signed With An Accountable Entity (Ae), Money Is Already Available To The Ae And, For Most Contracts, Invoices Are Paid Directly To Contractors/Consultants/Suppliers By The Us Treasury.
