The Prince George Forest District Has Experienced Bark Beetle Outbreaks, And The Ministry Is Monitoring Activity Throughout The District. The Goal Is To Understand The Infestation And Spread Of Bark Beetles. The Information Gathered Can Provide Supporting Data For Management Considerations.The Purpose Of This Contract Is To Gather Data That Will Inform And Support Future Decisions Regarding The Management And Implications Of The Current Bark Beetle Outbreaks. The Forest Health Program Is Administered By The Stewardship Team At The Prince George Forest District.The Contract Will Be Requiring An Estimated 20 Polygons (288 959 Hectares) To Be Surveyed In Various Locations Throughout The Prince George Forest District; This Is Dependent On Budget, Survey Conditions And Time. It Is Possible That Survey Polygons Could Be Added Or Removed From The Contract. The Surveys Will Include Rotary-Wing Flights To Detect Spruce Bark Beetle, Balsam Bark Beetle, Mountain Pine Beetle And Douglas-Fir Beetle.
