Request for proposals are invited for Senegal Nutrition Scoping lead Consultant Scope of Work The consultant will lead the scoping planning and implementation, co-creation workshop planning and facilitation and prepare a document that summarize findings, decisions and next steps. The consultant will also orient the Chief of Party, when hired, on the findings and next steps and serve as a technical resource to him/her as a needed. The consultant will lead a scoping and work-planning team that includes Senegal-based technical experts, and US-based technical backstops, as well as US-based program and finance staff. Specific tasks include: 1. Hold initial orientation meetings with the activity team. The purpose of this meeting will also be to agree on the detailed plan for the consultant and work planning team 2. Conduct a desk review. ELEVATE Nutrition will provide the consultant with background documents. The consultant will oversee gathering of additional documents and assign team members to review certain documents and share findings, while also reviewing a set of documents themselves. The consultant will prepare a presentation or report with relevant findings, and key questions to be answered through scoping. 3. Plan and conduct the first scoping visit. The consultant will lead the scoping and work planning team to plan the initial scoping visit, which will focus on information needed to design the SOW co-creation workshop. Meetings are expected to be at the central level, in and around Dakar. This is expected to involve an approximately 3 week trip to Senegal. This will include: a. Developing a detailed list of key stakeholders with guidance/input from the Senegal-based technical experts and USAID colleagues b. Develop interview guides in collaboration with the scoping team c. Plan and conduct interviews with key stakeholders (Senegal-based team will handle scheduling). d. Prepare a presentation with the findings and recommendations from the scoping. This presentation will be shared during the SOW co-creation workshop. Timetable and Address for Submission Proposals are due no later than 11:59 PM EDT on Friday, August 9, 2024. Required documentation listed below must be e-mailed to [email protected] Qualifications Requires a bachelors degree in nutrition, public health or other directly relevant field from an accredited university; masters degree preferred. At least 5 years experience working in wasting prevention and treatment and maternal, infant, and young child nutrition. In-depth knowledge of prevention and treatment of wasting and maternal, infant, and young child nutrition. Experience in Senegal a plus. Experience leading and coordinating technical teams to produce a quality written technical product Experience designing USAID-funded work plans Experience developing and facilitating technical workshops Excellent written and verbal communication skills Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing in French and English.
