This will be a new single span bridge comprising of steel girders made composite with a reinforced concrete bridge deck. The superstructure will be supported by new cast in-situ abutments founded on new piles. New instream scour protection and works in the riverbed is also required as part of the construction. This is a significant project both for Council and the local community. The bridge is to be completed in early March 2025 to support the local economy and the timely transport of the kiwifruit harvest. The bridge will provide permanent, reliable and secure access for No 4 Road residents. We intend to go to market mid August 2024 and the supplier briefing is to be held 1 week after tender posted on GETS to allow Tenderers to review docs before briefing. The tender is to be evaluated using the Price Quality Method (PQM). Q&A about the tender will be activated once the tender is posted on GETS.
