The Esb Of The City Of Bocholt Intends To Create A Floodplain As A Retention Area In The West Of The City Along The Bocholter Aa Shortly Before The Eisenhütte Weir. This Requires The Construction Of A New Dike, On The Top Of Which A New Water-Bound Cycle Path Will Be Created. A New Oxbow Of The Bocholter Aa With Scour Areas Is Being Profiled In The Floodplain. In The Inflow And Outflow Of The Floodplain, Special Structures Are Being Built To Provide Passage For The Fish. Large Parts Of The Old Embankment Remain, The Cycle Path On Top Of It Will Be Dismantled And Scour Areas Will Also Be Dredged Up.
