Quotation are invited for Piloting Environmental Stewardship for the Somalia Closing Date: 31 Jul 2024 Type: Consultancy World Visions approach to humanitarian responses is guided by its Disaster Management Standards which incorporate the Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS). The requirement is for member organisations to demonstrate compliance through the CHS verification processes. to ensure a consistent and systematic application of the CHS at all levels of humanitarian organisations and across all responses. The capacity building should result in the following outputs and deliverables: Review WV Disaster Management Operational Framework for Environment and necessary documents provided by the WV Environmental Safeguarding Manager Development of training materials for environmental framework, NEAT+ and EIA. Support the preparations and planning logistics with the Somalia team Training WV Somalia staff in the environmental framework for Disaster Management. Training of environmental focal point and green team in environmental framework and NEAT+ screening tool and EIA. Support the Somalia environmental focal point in implementing the NEAT+ screening tool in a project proposal. Support the Somalia environmental focal point and green team in incorporating environmental activities in project design, logframe and indicator tracking. Support the Somalia office in environmental stewardship as needed. Draft & final report. The consultant will produce a draft report to be submitted to WV on the agreed date for review. A final report (MS Word, Excel files, PDF), including feedback from WV reflected in, will then be submitted to WV. Evaluation Criteria Evaluation Criteria for Environmental Stewardship in Somalia Response Relevant technical and professional background in environment, climate change and/or humanitarian experience, such as environmental engineering, environmental science, Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) standards or Environmental Social Standards (ESS) Experience with and training experience in Nexus Environmental Assessment (NEAT+) tool especially Trainer of Trainer (ToT) Experience in environmental impact assessments (EIA) Experience developing training materials and conducting workshops Technical evaluation skills, including qualitative and quantitative approaches Strong understanding of the human context, human impact and social sciences Strong analytical and writing skills Demonstrated understanding of the work proposed in the Terms of Reference Preferred, experience working for the World Bank in EIA or ESIA How to apply Interested consultancy companies or individuals to express their interest by sending to [email protected] by the 31st of July 2024.
