Expression of Interest For Provision Of Road Safety Audit Consultancy Services

Expression of Interest are invited for Provision of Road Safety Audit Consultancy Services - SADC Sub Regional Transport and Trade Facilitation Project The main objective of this consultancy service is to carry out road safety audits at design review stage, at the pre-opening and post-opening stages. The specific objectives of this project are: i. To minimise the risk of accidents occurring on new road schemes, and to minimise their severity. ii. To improve the awareness of safe design practices by all involved in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of roads. iii. To minimise the risk of accidents occurring on adjacent roads, i.e., to avoid creating accidents elsewhere on the network. iv. To recognise the importance of safety in highway design/ implementation to meet the needs and perceptions of all types of road user; and to achieve a balance between needs where they may be in conflict. v. To reduce the long-term costs of the scheme, bearing in mind that unsafe designs may be expensive or even impossible to correct at a later stage. The Roads Authority, on behalf of the Government of Malawi, now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (this includes brochures, description of similar assignments undertaken, whether there are any predispute situations which are likely to result in a claim experience in working in similar conditions, and availability of appropriate skills among staff).
