The Community Is 4 Km East Of The Town Of Moosonee, Which Is On The Mainland. Moosonee Is Accessible Year-Round Via Rail Or Airplane. Moose Factory Island Is Accessible From Moosonee, Ontario By Barge Or Boat During The Summer Months, Ice Road During Winter Months And Helicopter During Shoulder Seasons. The Barge Typically Runs From Mid-May To Mid-October. Moose Factory Island Is Also Periodically Connected To Otter Rapids, Ontario Via The Wetum Winter Road.
