Expression of Interest For Geospatial Planning Study Of The Electricity In The Comoros

Expression of Interest are invited for Geospatial Planning Study of the Electricity in the Comoros The Government of the Union of the Comoros is seeking the services of a Consultant (individual firm or consortium); with relevant and proven skills and experience to undertake the scope of work described below. The objective of this assignment includes:a) The creation of a GIS database of the layers.b) A geospatial analysis of least-cost electrification options that will be used to inform the Government of the Union of the Comoros in achieving national electrification goals.The analysis should estimate:(i) The corresponding investment and operating costs required for the entirenational power system.(ii) A comparative analysis of current production costs vs. long-term savings afterimplementation of the new infrastructures recommended by the geospatialanalysis.The consultant is also expected to establish a close and systematic collaboration with industry stakeholders; including an in-depth dialogue between the Ministry of Energy; SONELEC and;The General Directorate of Energy to establish GIS needs and capabilities; technicalinfrastructure; and mapping; planning and optimization tools; based on existing capabilities.The Consultant will be responsible for the transfer of knowledge to the Ministry of Energy; SONELEC and the General Directorate of Energy to ensure the continuity; sustainability and updating of the GIS database and tools; as described in the sections below.At least two on-site missions; each of two weeks length; should be planned by the Consultant in Comoros.
