Expression of Interest are invited for Gambia Digital Tourism Strategy The specific objectives of these activities will be as follows: · Carry out a diagnosis of the current degree of the digitalization of the tourism sector in the Gambia along the value chain (e.g. marketing, bookings, payments, aviation, entertainment) including a study on the sector needs and a mapping of public and private actors of the tourism ecosystem (including entrepreneurs/start-ups operating in related sectors of activity that can contribute to the tourism sector). · Establish the business case for investment in digitalization at the firm level and identify barriers to digital adoption. Work with the MoTC to prepare a draft national strategy for the digital transformation of the tourism sector, based on international benchmarking. The strategy should build a digital mind-set throughout the value chain and simplify, vet and channel new solutions to SMEs (lab and start-up community innovation support, mentoring, coaching) and the destination. It should be flexible and adaptable as technology advancements arise and should include a mandate for the ministry and Gambia Tourism Board to work in this space. It should include: goals for digital transformation; investment requirements; opportunities arising from existing research and innovations in the digital space; capacity building and human resource needs; and priority policy reforms. · Agree on goals and objectives with relevant stakeholders with defined roles and responsibilities for all partners, including accountability mechanisms.
