Quotation are invited for CAI PDS/ACC: We Make Diploma Program What we are looking for: The American Center Cairo (ACC), Public Diplomacy Section (PDS), U.S. Embassy Cairo of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations or individuals to submit applications to implement the "We Make Diploma" program. The program aims to foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education among Egyptian youth. The "We Make Diploma" is a 12-week program that will be conducted in four groups, with each comprising 10-15 participants aged 20 and above. At least 50% of the participants should be women. There will be two rounds of the program, with two groups running concurrently, totaling 24 weeks in one year from September 2024 to August 2025. In each round, classes for one group should take place in the ACC and the Cairo area while the second group should take place in a Delta and/or Upper Egypt governorate. Through high-quality, hands-on training, the program will provide participants from Cairo and other governorates with the technological skills and knowledge needed to succeed in STEM fields. The program will introduce topics such as maker technologies, robotics, coding, virtual reality (VR), as well as soft skills, pitching, and entrepreneurial skills to boost employability opportunities. The program supports Mission Goal 2 to boost economic growth and Mission Goal 3 to promote climate action through STEM education. Goals: 1. Conduct four rounds of the 12-week "We Make Diploma" program, each comprising 10-15 participants aged 20 and above, with at least 50% female representation. 2. Provide hands-on training in STEM fields, including maker technologies, robotics, coding, and virtual reality (VR). 3. Incorporate sessions on soft skills, pitching, and entrepreneurial skills to enhance employability opportunities. 4. Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and STEM education among Egyptian youth from Cairo and other governorates. 5. Promote increased understanding of U.S. policy, society, and perspectives in STEM fields through collaborations with American experts, organizations, or institutions. Programming: 1. Conduct four rounds of the 12-week "We Make Diploma" program, with two rounds (two groups per round) running concurrently. 2. Engage 10-15 participants aged 20 and above in each group, with at least 50% female representation. 3. For each round, deliver one groups classes at the ACC and in Cairo, while the other groups classes take place in a Delta and/or Upper Egypt governorate. 4. Provide hands-on training covering topics such as maker technologies, robotics, coding, virtual reality (VR), soft skills, pitching, and entrepreneurial skills. 5. Collaborate with U.S. experts, organizations, or institutions in STEM fields to promote understanding of U.S. perspectives.
