This project will be run against an NZS 3916 Design and Build Contract. The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) currently manages approximately 1,800 houses across the NZDF estate. This housing provides accommodation for NZDF personnel and their whnau to support personnel mobility, operational outputs and the wellbeing of personnel and their dependents. Existing housing stock across the NZDF estate is aging and requires either significant refurbishment or the construction of new residential dwellings in many locations across the country to meet the needs of NZDF families. As a result, NZDF has begun a focussed nationwide housing programme (Homes for Families). The Waiouru New Build Housing is one of the first projects implemented under the Homes for Families Programme.
