As A General Mission (No. 1, Pd 151/2004) Has The Following: • The Study, Planning, Organization And Coordination Of Action For The Prevention And Dealing With Natural, Technological And Other Disasters Or Emergency Situations, As Well As Informing The Public About These Issues. • The Preparation, Mobilization And Action Coordination Of The Countrys Potential And Means Of Civil Protection To Deal With Potential Disasters Of Any Kind Within The Framework Of The Existing Relevant Planning Per Risk Category. • The Use Of Available Scientific Data And Information To Mobilize The Potential And Means Of Civil Protection Of The Country, In View Of The Threatened Risk Of Disasters. • The Coordination Of The Project And Actions To Deal With Disasters During The Occurrence Of The Phenomena, As Well As The Work Of Restoring The Damages Caused. In Order To Achieve The Above, It Is Deemed Necessary To Create A Holistic Risk Management And Prevention Operational System With Systematized Information On All Risks, With The Aim Of Their Operational Utilization By The Operational Units And Agencies Involved In Crisis And Risk Management, As Well As By The Scientific Community, Businesses But Also The General Population (With Different Levels Of Access).
