Business Services: Law, Marketing, Consulting, Recruitment, Printing And Security – Consulting - Support For The Pre-Licensing Of A Nuclear Fusion Installation. The Smeld (State-Of-The-Art Metal Melting Limiting Waste During D&D) Project Is An Initiative To Develop A Foundry For Smelting Contaminated Metals From The Nuclear Industry, Including Those From Decommissioned Nuclear Facilities. The Project Aims To Expand The Radiological Acceptance Criteria At The Furnace Inlet Compared To Current Industrial Standards. As Part Of This Project, It Is Necessary To Obtain Operating Authorizations From The Competent Belgian Authorities. These Permits Are As Follows - Class 2 Permit In Accordance With Article 3.1.B) Of The Royal Decree Of 04/20/2001 Establishing General Regulations For The Protection Of The Population, Workers And The Environment Against The Danger Of Ionizing Radiation. - Environmental Permit, Class To Be Determined, According To: - Walloon Regional Decree Of 03/11/1999 Relating To Environmental Permits; - Flemish Regional Decree Of 04/25/2014 Relating To Environmental Permits. Although The Regulations Exist, It Should Be Noted That This Is The First Time In Belgium That An Installation Combining The Industrial Risks Of A Foundry And The Risks Linked To The Handling Of Radioactive Materials Will Be The Subject Of A Permit Application. This May Create Gaps In The Interpretation Of The Regulations, Which Will Lead To Discussions With The Competent Authorities, Such As The Federal Nuclear Control Agency (Fanc). An In-Depth Study...
