Over the last 18 years the Ministry of Education have upgraded over 700 fire alarm systems at schools throughout New Zealand. The aim of the program is to replace all old type B class change and obsolete systems with ones complying with the current building code requirements and New Zealand Standards. We are now into stage 24 of the program and Silverdale Normal School is the next school to qualify under the program.
