Demolition Work – Demolition Of The Canopies Of The Braunschweig Town Hall. General The Triangular Canopy In Steel Construction Is The Large Canopy Of The Town Hall, The Loads Of Which Are Transferred Into The Ground Via Three Cantilever Supports. When Viewed From Above, The Canopy Itself Takes The Form Of An Equilateral Triangle With A Leg Length Of Approx. 32.5 M. In The Middle Of The Triangle There Is A Circular Light Passage (Funnel) With A Diameter Of Approx. 17 M. The Maximum Height Of The Canopy Is Approx. 9.7 M Above The Ground Level. Supporting Structure The Load Around The Funnel Is Supported By Coupling Purlins Made Of Hea 120 Beams Of Different Lengths. These Are Installed At A Center Distance Of Around 2.00 M. In The Corner Areas, The Coupling Purlins Connect To Central Beams Made Of Ipe 160 Profiles. The Funnel Rests On A Facade Ring Covered With Aluminum Panels, Which Consists Of An Upper And Lower Chord Made Of Msh 180/100/8.0 Profiles And Supports Made Of U180 Profiles. Since The Coupling Purlins Protrude Into The Facade Ring At A Total Of 24 Points, The Facade Ring Contains A U180 Profile On The Top And Bottom Of The Purlin At These Points, Via Which The Support Is Attached. The Facade Ring Is Supported In 6 Places. 3 Support Areas Are Located At The Intersections With The Edge Beams, Which Are Designed As A Truss Construction. The Upper And Lower Chords Of The Edge Pulleys Are Made From Half Hem 240 Profiles. The Diagonals Are Made From Tube Profiles R 76.1 X 8.0 Mm. For The Other Support Areas For The Facade And Pressure Ring, A Cantilever Beam Acts As A Truss As A Support. The Upper And Lower Chords Of The Edge Pulleys Are Manufactured As Half Hem 240 Profiles. The Diagonals Are Made From Tube Profiles R 88.9 X 8.0 Mm. The Trusses Each Connect To A Cantilever Support R 559.0 X 20.0 Mm. Two Of The Three Cantilever Supports Are Located At The Town Hall, While The Other Support Is Positioned Away From The Town Hall. Two Additional Cantilever Beams Are Connected To Each Of The Cantilever Supports As Truss Girders. The Upper And Lower Chords Of These Trusses Are Made From Half Hem 240 Profiles. The Diagonals Are Made From Tube Profiles R 88.9 X 8.0 Mm. The End Verticals Of The Truss Girders, Like The Upper And Lower Chords, Are Designed As Half Hem 240 Profiles. Roof Construction The Areas Around The Funnel Are Covered On The Top With Trapezoidal Steel Sheeting. A 24 Mm Thick Wood-Based Panel (Bfu 100 G) Is Arranged On The Trapezoidal Sheet, Onto Which A Layer Of Roofing Felt (V13) And Finally A Highly Reflective Plastic Sheet Is Applied. A Continuous Aluminum Profile With A Material Thickness Of 2.0 Mm And A Nominal Height Of 300 Mm Is Installed On The Edge Of The Roof. The Funnel Is A Steel/Glass Construction In Which Approx. 17 Mm Thick Laminated Safety Glass (Upper Pane 8 Mm Esg Float, 0.76 Mm Pvb Film And Lower Pane 8 Mm Esg Float) Is Arranged On A Steel Substructure.
