Tenders are invited for Construction of the Central Cross Island Road Upgrading (Km 0+000 to Km 15+500) Consisting of 2 Sections: Section 1: Km 0+000 to Km 4+420 (Urban) Section 2: Km 4+420 to Km 15+500 (Rural) construction and completion of 15.5 km of upgraded 2-lane national road on Upolu Island over winding, hilly terrain under live traffic during construction that includes fulllength site clearance, utility relocation, bulk earthworks, new road drainage structures, drains and outfalls, new side road/intersection and vehicle crossing tie-ins, new road signs and line markings, guardrails, and a new widened and geometrically improved road carriageway split into an approximate 4.5 km long road section designed to urban standards, with balance 11 km as rural (the Works). The urban area includes a fully-kerbed nominal 7.0 m wide asphaltic concrete surfaced flexible pavement carriageway, reinforced concrete bus bays, vehicle and commercial crossings, concrete footpaths, pedestrian crossings, street lighting, and other miscellaneous features. The rural area includes a nominal 7.0 m wide asphaltic concrete surfaced flexible pavement with 1.55 m wide chip-sealed shoulders.
