The Almere Wastewater Treatment Plant (Awzi) Is One Of The Five Wwtps Within The Management Area Of The Zuiderzeeland Water Board. The Current Treatment Plant Still Has Sufficient Biological Capacity, But Almere Is Growing Rapidly. It Is Expected That Capacity Will Have To Be Expanded Between 2027 And 2030. The Work Concerns The New Construction (Capacity Increase) And Renovation Of The Almere Wastewater Treatment Plant (Awzi). The Capacity Increase Will Be Achieved Through Adjustments To The Water Line And The Construction Of A Sludge Digestion Plant. The Work Mainly Consists Of: Converting A Secondary Settling Tank To A Pre-Settling Tank, The Construction Of A Pumping Station, Adapting An Existing Reception Structure, The Realization Of Sludge Digestion Tanks Including Buffers And Gas Storage, The Construction Of A Sludge Storage Tank, The Construction Of A Sludge Processing Building ( Including Various Installations), Increasing The Existing Sludge Processing Capacity, Installing Odor Treatment Installations, Realizing A Micro-Pollution Removal Installation And Various Renovation Work.
