Purpose Of Procurementpursuant To The State Purchasing Act (Official Code Of Georgia Annotated 50-5-50 Et Seq.), This Electronic Request For Proposals (Erfp) Is Being Issued To Establish A Contract With A Qualified Supplier Who Will Provide Facility Store & Warehouse Operation Services¿To The University Of Georgia¿(The State Entity) As Further Described In This Erfp.¿ The University Of Georgias Facilities Management Division (Fmd) Operates A 70,000 Square-Foot Facility That Stores Product For Fmd Shop Technicians.¿ The University Of Georgia (Uga) Seeks To Establish A Contract With A Qualified Supplier To Operate Our Facility Management Supply Warehouse.¿ The Operation Will Involve Procuring And Receiving Products, Managing Inventory, Providing An Online Ordering System, Tracking Orders, Assisting Customers With Order Pickup And Product Selection Services, Delivery Of Products, Reporting, And Design And Maintenance Of The Warehouse Space.¿ Fmds Warehouse Currently Spends $7.8 Million Dollars On Supplies And Materials Annually.¿ ¿ Goals:It Is The Intent Of Fmd To Consolidate The Source Of All Shop Purchases To The Fmd Warehouse To Reduce Operating Costs, Improve Visibility, Productivity, Traceability, And Minimize Travel Time For Technicians. Areasof Focus Include Improved Assortment And In-Stock Position, Stronger Customer Service With Product Expertise, Facility Layout Re-Design And Information Systems Integration.
