Work Detail
Research Laboratory Services – Geotechnical Analysis And Evaluation Of Existing And New Drill Cores From The Lausitz Granodiorite With Lengths Of Up To 250 Meters For The German Center For Astrophysics (Dza). The Dza Concept Is Based On Three Pillars: Research, Technology Development And Digitalization. The Main Campus, Which Combines These Three Pillars, Is To Be Built At The Görlitz Location. In Addition, An Underground Research Laboratory, The Low Seismic Lab, Is To Be Built In The Granite Of Lausitz Between The Towns Of Hoyerswerda, Kamenz And Bautzen, In Which Technologies For Researching Gravitational Waves In Particular Will Be Developed And Tested. The Seismographic Conditions In The Granite Rock Of Lusatia Are Unique And Particularly Suitable For Researching Gravitational Waves. Gravitational Wave Detectors Are Significantly Disturbed By Seismic Waves That Constantly Pass Through The Ground. This Leads To Falsifications Of The Measurement Results. The Granite Rock In Lusatia Offers A Unique Opportunity To Build A Laboratory Without Seismic Waves. The Exact Location In The Triangle Between Hoyerswerda, Kamenz And Bautzen Must Be Determined With The Help Of Further Investigations And Test Drilling In Order To Create The Best Possible Conditions For Basic Research. An Initial Test Drilling In The Lausitz Granite Has Already Been Carried Out In Order To Gain Initial Insights Into The Nature Of The Granite And Its Suitability For The Construction Of The Low Seismic Lab. The Exact Location Of The Low Seismic Lab Should Now Be Determined. For The Final Location Of The Dza Low Seismic Lab, It Is Essential To Determine The Properties Of The Subsurface. In Addition To The First Test Drilling Carried Out So Far, Three Further Drillings Are Planned. The Subject Of This Tender Is The Analysis Of A Total Of Four Drill Cores. Geological-Geotechnical And Petrophysical Recordings And Measurements Are To Be Carried Out On The Drill Cores, Especially With A View To The Heterogeneity Of The Lausitz Granodiorite And Impressed Tectonic Structures. The Measurements Are Required As Depth Correlation For The Area Seismic Measurements And The Assessment Of The Structural Feasibility Of The Low Seismic Lab. The Measurements Are Intended To Determine The Distribution Of The Geomechanical Properties In 3D Space. Various Measurements And Tests Are Necessary For This (See Section 3.2 Of The Service Description In Detail): - Geotechnical Core Logging (Preliminary Compressive Strength Determinations With A Schmidt Hammer (Isrm, 2014)) - Geophysical Measurements On Cores (Scan For Compression Wave Speed, Gamma Density) - Rock Mechanical Characterization (Uniaxial Compression Tests According To The Recommendations Of Dggt Ak 3.3 No. 1, Triaxial Compression Tests According To Isrm 1999, Brazilian Tensile Strength Test According To The Recommendations Of Isrm, Cerchar Test According To Recommendation No. 23 Of Dggt Ak 3.3 Felsprüfungtechnik 2016) - Petrophysical Measurements On Cores (Laboratory Measurements In The Permeability Range Between 10 To The Power Of -21 And 10 To The Power Of -10 M² In The Geotechnically Delimited Mountain Areas, Measurements At Ambient Pressures
