Request for Information (Market research) (RFI) for Upgrade of the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (Afis) and Biometric Recording Devices Open Date: Monday, 8 April 2024 11:00 AM (Pacific/Auckland UTC+12:00) Close Date: Friday, 26 April 2024 5:00 PM (Pacific/Auckland UTC+12:00) Tender Type: Request for Information (Market research) (RFI) Tender Coverage: Sole Agency Regions: New Zealand Required Pre-qualifications: None Overview: What we need New Zealand Police seeks an integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) with integrated livescan biometric data capture which includes ten-print finger and palmprint recording system from both fixed and portable capture devices, a custody photography capture system, and a solution for the portable/mobility recording devices, for the capture and transmission of latent evidence fingerprints, palmprints and footprints from the field. These systems would all require an archive style system of data storage and retrieval, capable of handling images recorded to 1000pdi resolution standard and in the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) file format for each biometric modal. It is anticipated that Police will require approximately 50 fixed biometric data recording devices to support approximately 40 Police Stations across New Zealand as permanent installations. In addition to this an additional approximated 130 portable biometric recording devices are required national wide to enable flexible deployment operations for police. A new solution for a portable/mobility device system for the in the field capture and secure transmission of latent fingerprints, palmprints and footprints back to a secure storage system with integration to an automated AFIS search. The solution provided will need to integrate with the newly developed Scars Marks and tattoos (SMT) application which is a Police mobility device-based application.
