Request for proposals are invited for Consultancy Services to implement a Green Business Incubator program in Amman, Irbid, Mafraq, and Zarqa governorates, Jordan. GGGI for its projects in Jordan invites all eligible companies to submit their proposals for consulting services to implement a Green Business Incubator program in Amman, Irbid, Mafraq, and Zarqa governorates, Jordan PROJECT BACKGROUND: Jordan faces resource scarcity, particularly in water and fossil fuels, necessitating a transition towards a more sustainable and resource-efficient economy. Environmental challenges, such as desertification, land degradation, and water scarcity, can be mitigated through green jobs that minimize the negative environmental impact of industries and encourage sustainable practices. High unemployment rates, especially among refugees, youth, and women, can be addressed by generating new green employment opportunities, targeting marginalized groups, and promoting social equality. Green jobs also contribute to climate change mitigation, helping Jordan meet its commitments under the Paris Agreement. Furthermore, green jobs projects align with the UN SDGs. In sum, sustainable, inclusive green jobs creation projects in Jordan can contribute to address the countrys economic, social, and environmental challenges. GGGI is implementing the project titled Creating Sustainable Green Jobs for Refugees and Host Communities through the Green Economy in Jordan financed by KOICA and co-financed by GGGI for three years (2023-2026). The project aims to achieve the following three main outcomes: Provide evidence of the economic and environmental benefits of green employment to enable a green employment environment in Jordan, Enhance job seekers employability in green sectors through skill development and increased climate change awareness (especially women and youth) Establish green business incubation & acceleration on/offline programs for green entrepreneurs / green start-ups for green entrepreneurs / green start-ups. Objective of the assignment The objective of this assignment is to support the delivery of outcome 3 and GGGI seeks the services of a competent partner to implement the Green Business Incubation Program, a pivotal initiative aimed at supporting and nurturing green entrepreneurs and startups, particularly in their early stages. The rationale behind implementing this program is to help environmentally sustainable enterprises. We aim to foster growth and address the critical need for ecological sustainability in business practices. This program empowers entrepreneurs and startups operating in prioritized green sectors by offering comprehensive support and guidance. At its core is a meticulous beneficiary selection process, ensuring that individuals with a genuine commitment to establishing green enterprises are included. The plan is to support at least 150 project teams in the Green Business Incubation Program. Post-incubation, our target is for at least 75% of these participants to continue actively working on their entrepreneurial projects, providing essential services to the community. The Green Business Incubation Program encompasses a range of vital services, including the provision of workspace and infrastructure to minimize initial operational costs. Additionally, participants will receive strategic business development support to refine their ideas and models, access various funding avenues, and benefit from mentorship and coaching by seasoned professionals. The program also aims to create networking opportunities for collaborations and market access while offering specialized training in green entrepreneurship and sustainable practices. To ensure inclusivity and diversity, we aim for the participants to consist of at least 50% refugees, 50% women, and 25% youth, reflecting our commitment to creating a sustainable and socially responsible business ecosystem. PROPOSED ACTIVITIES AND SCOPE OF WORK: Scope of Work: The Green Incubator Program is a transformative six-month program to nurture and propel early-stage entrepreneurs and startups through the initial phases of their developmental journey. This program serves to foster a fertile ecosystem wherein burgeoning enterprises dedicated to sustainability can succeed. At its core, the Green Incubator Program is a dynamic platform for MSMEs seeking to refine their business concepts into tangible realities. With the tools of resources, knowledge, and expert guidance, participants are empowered to traverse the landscape of ideation, product development, and market penetration. The program aims to empower participants to craft a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) as a witness to innovation in green sectors. Participants chart their success paths by addressing pressing environmental challenges through their MVPs and contribute to the broader sustainability mission. As participants engage in a comprehensive curriculum enriched with mentorship, workshops, and collaborative brainstorming sessions, they emerge as adept entrepreneurs poised to make a substantial impact. The programs framework extends beyond the conventional confines of business insight, supporting a deep-rooted understanding of the interplay between commerce and ecology. Under this assignment, the six-month program will have to be delivered four times, with roughly between 35-40 participating teams per round.
