Expression of Interest are invited for Decarbonization Roadmap for a Domestic Inter-Island Shipping Company. The overarching goal of this assignment involves a comprehensive analysis of the companys assets and operations across inter-island shipping fleet (majority), ports (primarily used for companys own use) and logistics to come up with a nuanced understanding of the companys activities and identify opportunities for decarbonization within their fleet as well as in the business operations at the port that can be developed through capital investment and potentially Sustainability Linked Financing. More specifically, the consulting firm will: (i) conduct a baseline analysis of the companys environmental footprint; (ii) review international and local efficiency standards and compliance requirements; (iii) benchmark the companys efficiency and GHG emissions performance with relevant peers/industry standards; (iv) review technologically proven and commercially available retrofit technologies as relevant to the companys fleet as well as greening options for the port/operations. As an outcome of the assessment above as well as feasibility considering capital investment required and cost benefit analysis, the consulting firm will propose a decarbonization roadmap for the company along with relevant short-medium-long term goals and timeframes. This will cover fleet replacement as well as retrofit options for the vessels as well as related modifications and suggestions for the port operations. The company is a leading inter-island shipping company in PNG currently operating a fleet of multi-purpose vessels, LCTs, tugs and barges (all locally flagged), as well as a few local cargo port facilities. The Companys fleet provides liner, project cargo transportation, charter, and towing services, and operates 12 scheduled cabotage routes connecting 13 PNGs ports.
