Our network is improving with the implementation of a National Ticketing Solution (NTS) in late 2024. This project aims to deliver a consistent approach to ticketing across New Zealand and Canterbury is the first region to implement the new ticketing solution. An output of the scheduling solution is the General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) file, and this is a key input into NTS. Currently, we are using three solutions to developed GTFS files and we are seeking to consolidate this into one solution. We seek a solution that: can be implemented and live by October 2024 will automate key scheduling processes that enable efficiencies and network cost savings such as optimised blocking and interlining. produces GTFS files that can be imported into the current Real-Time Information system and the upcoming NTS. is user-friendly and easy to navigate between timetables for users. provides ongoing timely support and relationship management.
