The objectives are to reduce risk and increase capacity of Wellingtons rail network, so it can meet the planned need for sustainable transport. This project is planning to install Level 2 ETCS (European Train Control System) with Automatic Train Protection and in-cab signals to replace lineside signals. This EOI is issued by KiwiRail through its Future Rail Systems business operation for the purpose of shortlisting up to four (4) Respondents to participate in a Competitive Dialogue (CD) and RFP process for the role of Wellington ETCS Lineside Contractor.
